PHILIPS RECALL
PHILIPS CPAP, BiPAP, AND
VENTILATOR LAWSUIT
Philips Respironics is a market leader for CPAP and BiPAP machines that are used to treat sleep apnea. In June 2021, Philips issued a voluntary RECALL of its CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilator machines because of toxins and particles being inhaled by users that can cause, among other things, cancer. If you used a Philips machine, you may have a claim for money damages.
CPAP, BiPAP, AND
VENTILATOR RECALL
On June 14, 2021, Philips Respironics issued an urgent recall for many of their CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilator devices. The polyester-based polyurethane (PE-PUR) sound-insulating foam used inside the machines may degrade over time. The degraded particles and chemicals in that foam can then make their way into the airway portion of the devices. Inhaling, ingesting, or absorbing these toxins can increase your risk of lung cancer and other serious or life-threatening injuries. The FDA classified this recall as a CLASS 1 RECALL.
